Engineer

Job Description

• Partner with key battery, inverter, enclosure/building suppliers to estimate component cost and performance for battery energy storage systems for inclusion in PV+S projects
• Collaborate with battery suppliers and BESS integrator partners to build investor confidence in new technology or suppliers and push down the Levelized Cost of Storage
• Write clear and strong contracts with utilities on the performance the BESS based on the capabilities of typical BESS suppliers
• Specify controls capabilities of the BESS for integration with onsite PV and utility operations
• Write clear and strong contracts for the BESS supplier to deliver on our PPA obligations
• Meet with utility customers who need to be educated in the battery system capabilities

Qualification

• Experienced in utility scale battery contracting from buyer or seller perspective
• Experienced documenting plant design for Independent Engineers
• Experienced with battery degrade calculations and contractual guarantees terms
• Experienced in designing and/or operating Battery Energy Storage Systems
• Experienced in utility energy systems
