About the Role

NextWave are working with a large renewable energy investor who have several offshore wind projects they are developing in Korea. As a result of this activity, they are looking to hire an Engineering Director who will be responsible for seeing these projects from development through to operations.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the engineering works throughout the project lifecycle providing day to day leadership to the technical team members of the projects
  • Defining, optimising and integrating the project design within the project commercial drivers, schedule and budget;
  • Managing the sign-off on critical technical project decisions
  • Interfacing with package managers when required, to ensure the project is designed and delivered effectively
  • Responsible for the collection and reporting of data about the project
  • Providing project CAPEX, OPEX and performance figures alongside the package managers for financial modelling purposes
  • Leading the contracting strategy, bidding process, negotiation and completion for all the major project contracts
  • Managing the engineering team members working on the project
  • Coordinating external resources including design companies, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers, marine contractors, logistics companies and more
  • Promoting good HSSE practices and ensuring these requirements are fully implemented

Requirements

  • Minimum of [10] years of experience in offshore wind sector.
  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Engineering
  • Experience with the implementation & execution of large projects in leadership roles
  • Strong leadership skills and management capability to lead and coordinate a technical team
  • Significant relevant experience in development & construction of large offshore wind projects
  • Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills in written and spoken English, due to project interface responsibilities
